Where to shop in Lamai Beach

When compared to Chaweng beach, the shopping scene on Lamai beach is much smaller than it. However, with the products available here found at much lower prices, people prefer doing their shopping on Lamai beach.

The Popala House is a shop in Lamai Beach that is cave like from the outside with a lot of shopping in its interior. You find a large range of stunning teak furniture for you to choose from to take back home. In addition to this furniture, you can approach Popala House of Lamai beach for shopping of ornate carvings and religious idols made of both metal and wood.

Get yourself an embroidered sarong while on Lamai Beach

Samui Hot club is the place to visit in Lamai Beach if you are shopping for quality, and cheap clothing. There is also a branch of this store found on Chaweng beach, Samui Island. This store on Lamai Beach also offers a wide range of tourist favorites like Thai fisherman's trousers, printed sarongs and kaftans. And if you have the budget, you can also buy expensive hand painted and embroidered sarongs, and accompanying accessories.

The Hin Ta Hin Yai stalls are found near the grandmother and grandfather rocks of south Lamai beach. These stalls offer a wide range of shopping goods in a fun-filled atmosphere of a one man band playing Thai tunes. These stalls are the best places to head for traditional coconut wood carvings and shell ornaments.

Large shells or corals bought in Lamai Beach bring you trouble at home

However it is not advisable shopping for larger shells or corals as this only brings about reef damage. Moreover, importing coral to your country from Lamai Beach may only land you in hot trouble. Instead, you could consider shopping for the local Thai caramel and coconut sweet desserts found in abundance here as they are delicious and great for buying as gifts for friends at home.
